Lisa maintains this license by attending annual continuing education courses on the many facets of interior design.
Lisa's practical experience began in the furniture industry, where she was cultured on furniture construction and finishing. It was during these early years in her career that she was invited into the homes of many lovely clients, primarily to space plan furniture arrangements and consult on paint colors. Lisa soon learned what the necessary element of design truly is: Good two-way communication with the client. "Through the process of problem solving with people, sometimes you have to help the client express their selves and delve into the psychology of their needs and desires".
"Every design project is a collaboration with my client, and I encourage input and feedback. My goal is to help them express themselves through my medium: interior design. Often, this means encouraging clients to take a leap of faith and go beyond what they normally would do."
Lisa rapidly embarked upon her lifelong study of the psychological affects of design and color. She discovered that a well designed interior can help reinforce a specific mood or ambiance and can help bring internal balance to its users.
Lisa's career path led her to the home building industry with David Weekley Homes. There, she assisted new home buyers with the multitude of design decisions required for construction of their dream. During her six years as Senior Interior Designer, Lisa gained valuable knowledge with the materials and finishes available on the market. At the height of the building boom, she met with three hundred clients annually. Meeting and assisting a broad variety of families building in all corners of Houston has provided Lisa with a unique perspective and allowed her to work within many varied styles.
Lisa saw a need within her community of Cypress, TX to share her love of beautiful objects and home d?cor. She left her position with David Weekley Homes to pursue an independent career where she could express her passion for dealing with the finishing elements of design.
In May 2005, Lisa realized her dream in the opening of the inSpiRed hOme. Her boutique is a warm, inviting oasis of creative possibilities!
